Building value in the Middle East IT market has proved a challenge for many channel partners in the region. With more emerging technologies impacting the development of the much needed IT skills, the value of training and partner certifications, and how these translate into business opportunities for resellers in the region is critical.
Skills in Demand
Security and big data dominate the demand for advanced skills in the channel, according to most industry insiders. But they are closely followed by third platform and cloud technologies, reflecting the increasingly virtualized infrastructures of today’s enterprises of every type and size.
“It is not uncommon to find a gap between the supply and demand of IT skills when you have an economy which offers unprecedented opportunities in the digital transformation stage,” said Vimal Kocher, managing director at value-added distributor Arrow ECS Middle East.
